On March 14 Apple decided in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak to close all of its retail stores outside of China until March 27. The announcement was made by Apple's CEO Tim Cook in a tweet. Today Apple has made the announcement that it will be extending the closure of its US retails stores until further notice.
Apple's US region website now displays a banner that states:
"Our retail stores are closed until further notice.
We are committed to providing exceptional service to our customers. For purchases with fast and free delivery, shop here on apple.com or the Apple Store app. For service and support, go to support.apple.com or call 800-275-2273.We look forward to seeing you soon.".
It is unclear whether this indefinite closure will apply to retail stores outside of the US. Other Apple regions currently do not display the banner.
